Who We Are

The Utah Postal Workers Union (UPWU) is a proud and active local of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU), representing postal workers across the state of Utah. We are a strong, united voice for postal employees—working tirelessly to defend workers’ rights, protect the integrity of the Postal Service, and promote fairness, dignity, and respect in the workplace.

What We Do

We advocate for the economic, job-related, and personal well-being of our members by:

  • Negotiating and enforcing collective bargaining agreements to secure fair wages, safe working conditions, and strong benefits.

  • Representing members in grievances, disciplinary actions, and disputes with management.

  • Educating and empowering postal workers through training, mentorship, and communication.

  • Protecting postal jobs by fighting against privatization and service cuts that harm both workers and the public.

  • Engaging in legislative and political action to support pro-worker and pro-postal policies at the state and national level.

What We Stand For

  • Solidarity – We believe in the power of unity. When we stand together, we win together.

  • Justice – Every worker deserves to be treated fairly, equitably, and with respect.

  • Integrity – We uphold transparency, accountability, and honesty in all union affairs.

  • Public Service – We take pride in our essential role serving the people of Utah and the nation, and we fight to preserve a strong, public Postal Service for generations to come.

  • Community – We’re more than postal workers. We’re neighbors, family members, and community builders committed to making a difference beyond the workplace.

Our Mission

To protect and advance the rights, wages, and working conditions of postal workers throughout Utah—while preserving the U.S. Postal Service as a vital and public institution that serves every American, no matter where they live.
